Enjoy Nataal’s first zine - KK Obi and Mehdi Lacoste’s portrait series of London’s most trailblazing men

United we stand. That’s the message delivered loud and clear by the individuals who have lined up together for this very special project - a collaboration between Nataal, stylist and creative director KK Obi and photographer Mehdi Lacoste. We have selected a strong cast of young black men who are among those leading the way within the creative community in London whose output is helping to define new diaspora identities.

Whether working in music, fashion, dance, activism, visual arts or media, they are channelling their own diverse cultural experiences and unique points of view into positively articulating an inclusive representation of black selfhood and masculinity. And having a damn good time in the process.

With roots across Africa, the Caribbean and beyond, yet currently planted in the diaspora, their contemporary storytelling represents not only a generational shift in ideas and attitudes but is also creating new spaces for exchange. And that, of course, is when the magic happens. Say hello to your boys, your brothers and your friends…
