Listen to a special mix of cosmic African disco by Xander Ferreira ahead of his DJ set at the opening of Nataal's New African Photography II

Xander Ferreira will be spinning some special records at the Nataal: New African Photography II and Malick Sidibé: The Eye of Modern Mali exhibition opening this Thursday 4 May, from 6-9pm, at Red Hook Labs in Brooklyn.

Musician, artist, philosopher and friend of Nataal, this South African Renaissance man now calls New York home. It’s here that you’ll find him DJing behind the decks as the Happy Show DJs or crooning on stage with this band, the True Tones, among his many other feel-good pursuits.

To get us all in the mood for the launch event, Ferreira has kindly made Nataal this mix. The Grand African Discoteque 1 features “cosmic African disco spanning the continent and the mind.” Enjoy!
