Legendary 17th century heroine Jacquotte Delahaye was born in Haiti to a French father and Haitian mother. Made an orphan as a child and left to care for her disabled brother, she turned to piracy. When a price was put on her head, this brave beauty faked her own demise and lived as a man for several years. Upon her return, Jacquotte became known as Back From the Dead Red because of her striking red hair, and went on to take over her own Caribbean island, Freebooter Republic. It’s here that she died defending her cavalier kingdom. But she has lived on in countless imaginations and swashbuckling stories ever since….
