Breaking new ground for SA retail, Superbalist recently travelled to Dakar, Senegal to shoot our bold winter campaign. Against the backdrop of the historic Dakar Railway Station and train carriages, Senegalese models were at the forefront of a story with nods to the work of Wes Anderson and the nostalgia of train travel.

All aboard for Rudi Geyser’s nostalgic AW16 campaign shoot
for Superbalist

Nataal contributing photographer Rudi Geyser and stylist Tammy Tinker recently took a trip to Dakar with South African retailer Superbalist to shoot its AW16 campaign. Inspired by Wes Anderson’s humorous, misty-eyed cinematography, the team shot in and around the city’s tumbledown train station with a cast of non-models. The resulting images and film take us on a delightfully wonky journey through Senegal’s beloved capital city.
