Exclusive: The Cape Town streetwear collective model the latest collection from Drôle de Monsieur

Amsterdam-based photographer Nick van Tiem and stylist Suze Kuit have teamed up with Cape Town’s Broke Boy$ for this exclusive Drôle de Monsieur story. Shot against the backdrop of the Macassar Beach Pavilion, an abandoned water park now hidden among the dunes of the Cape Flats, creative duo Andile and Mzwandile wear the latest looks by the French label with their born-with-it insouciance.

Broke Boy$ was founded in 2016 by Andile, Mzwandile and their circle friends and is now a growing multidisciplinary movement. “In the beginning, we were trying to influence streetwear through thrifted clothing but have since expanded into events, music, DJing, photography, modelling,” Andile explains. “I’m always looking to grow my knowledge within the industry and street culture so when my favourite photographer Nick Vantiem presented me with the opportunity, I was more than keen to be a part of the shoot.”
