Petite Noir and Rharha Nembhard model SS17 looks from
Merge ZA’s LFW designers

The Sartists aka the polymath foursome Kabelo Kungwane, Wanda Lephoto, Xzavier Zulu and Andile Buka who count design, photography, advertising and consultancy among their many skills, recently took their first trip to the UK. They participated in the Merge ZA showroom during London Fashion Week alongside fellow South African creatives Rich Mnisi, Lukhanyo Mdingi, Young and Lazy (Anees Petersen) and Celeste Arendse of Selfi, who set up Merge ZA with Lilian Schulze. The Sartists also visited Brighton to host an event as part of Brighton Museum’s Fashion Cities Africa exhibition.

Supported by the British Fashion Council Connect ZA programme, they made the most of their time in London by collaborating with noirwave prince Petite Noir (Yannick Ilunga) and creative director Rharha Nembhard on this exclusive shoot. “We worked with the Merge ZA team to create five lookbooks for their showroom designers as part of our tour,” explains Buka, who was behind the lens. “Each designer selected their ideal looks to be modelled by Yannick and Rharha and we used the Serpentine gallery as our backdrop.” Debuted here on Nataal, we invite you to immerse yourself in this invigorating SS17 goodness and then head over to our Instagram to experience more of The Sartists' travel tales.
