Naelson de Castro invites us to reflect on the multiplicity of Black beauty in Brazil

“This story is a celebration of Black beauty in all its power and fluidity,” says Brazilian photographer Naelson de Castro of his latest personal project. “Sculpted braids become monuments carrying intertwined stories in each strand. Cowrie shells connect the present to ancestral waters. Cashew fruits evokes the earth, the body and the sweetness of resilience. Each element builds into a narrative of strength, memory and identity.”
